Darren Smith

Darren joined the firm in 2016 after serving as chief of staff to Pennsylvania Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi. In that role, Darren was involved in all the major issues to come before the Senate, including the annual state budget process, legislation, and executive nominations. Prior to joining the Senate, Darren worked in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as Executive Director of the Republican Policy Committee and Legislative Director of the Appropriations Committee under Representative Mario Civera. Darren also served as Communications Director to U.S. Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick.

Through his time working in the General Assembly and Congress, Darren has broad and deep relationships across both aisles and chambers of the General Assembly, particularly among legislators and leaders from the Philadelphia region. A graduate of Dickinson College and Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, previously Darren worked as an attorney at Dilworth Paxson LLP where he primarily represented public sector clients in labor, employment, and general litigation matters.
