Steven Crawford

Steve Crawford’s career in public service spanned almost 3 decades, working with two governors and the General Assembly. You would be hard pressed to find a more accomplished and respected public servant or government relations professional in Harrisburg. He combines the qualities of integrity and problem-solving with an understanding of what is needed in today’s partisan political and government environment. Non-partisan observers of state government recognize Steve’s achievements as he is regularly named to City & State PA’s Power 100 List. He’s also frequently asked to serve as a television commentator on legislative and political affairs.

Steve has led Wojdak Government Relations since 2011. Prior to joining the firm, Steve served as the Secretary for Legislative Affairs and Chief of Staff to Governor Ed Rendell for eight years. Rendell needed an experienced and respected guide to navigate the divided and often tumultuous legislative battlefield. During Crawford’s tenure in the Rendell Administration, Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman described Steve as “the perfect calm. We had a trust in Steve Crawford…he was professional in the way he handled things.”

He began his public service career in the Casey Administration. Crawford worked to bring rural and urban and Republican and Democratic interests together to pass laws creating agriculture and economic development programs that remain some of the commonwealth’s leading initiatives. He then worked as top staffer in the legislature for 12 years, honing a skill set that excelled in bridging political and policy differences and gaining an insider’s knowledge of the workings of Pennsylvania state government. Steve is a graduate of Mansfield University, where he serves on the Board of Trustees.
